6-Way COLORado PXL Curve 12 Flight Case
Maximum truck-pack efficiency. Motor-safe transit. Secure storage for six fixtures and the rigging that comes with them.
The Nomad 6-Way COLORado PXL Curve 12 Case is built for the large-scale touring lighting crews, festival production companies, and rental houses moving six of Chauvet Professional's pixel-mappable LED battens between venues in a single unit — where freight efficiency, motor protection, and accessory organisation all have to work together at scale.
Hand-built in our Market Harborough workshop, every case combines a six-fixture CNC foam tooled interior with a dedicated secure storage compartment for the clamps, safety cables, and rigging hardware that accompanies each PXL Curve 12 to site. Six fixtures, all the kit, one truck-pack-efficient case.
Why generic cases fail this fixture
The COLORado PXL Curve 12 isn't a static LED bar. It's a precision instrument — individually-controllable pixels driven through pixel-mapping software, paired with a motorised tilt mechanism that responds in real time to cue commands. Both systems are sensitive to vibration, impact, and the chain handling rigging crews work through during 200+ shows a year.
A generic foam-fitted flight case protects the outer body of the fixture. It doesn't isolate the motor from sustained low-frequency vibration during freight handling. It doesn't account for the LED panel's resin coating and the small impacts that cause hairline damage over time. It doesn't keep the accessory hardware sorted from the fixtures themselves, so clamps and safety cables get loose in transit and impact the panels.
This case is engineered around exactly those failure modes — and built to carry six fixtures together with the same protection standards as a single-fixture custom case.
Engineered for scale
Every Nomad 6-Way Curve 12 case is CNC-profiled to the exact dimensions of the fixture — including the motorised tilt yoke, the LED panel face, and the connection panel at the rear. Dual-density Plastazote foam tooling cradles all six fixtures from below and above, isolating each motor assembly from high-frequency vibration during freight transit and absorbing the impact loads that come with festival load-ins.
The fixtures sit face-up in the foam tray, allowing crews to visually inspect each unit before pulling it for the show. Each motorised yoke is supported separately from the panel body, ensuring the motor doesn't carry the fixture's weight during transit — a small detail that meaningfully extends motor service life across an entire rental fleet over multiple touring seasons.
Secure accessory storage
The Curve 12 doesn't travel alone. Each fixture ships with safety cables, hook clamps, power and DMX/CAT5 cables, and rigging hardware that has to make it to site as reliably as the fixture itself. Six fixtures means six sets of accessories — and the operational risk of mismatched, missing, or tangled hardware scales fast on a festival load-in.
A dedicated secure storage compartment keeps all of this hardware sorted, protected, and immediately accessible. No more digging through trunks for misplaced clamps or chasing down cables across the rigging bay. The case arrives with everything six fixtures need — properly stored, properly protected, properly together.
The maths of fleet logistics at scale
Six-fixture cases sit at the maximum-efficiency tier of touring logistics. For rental houses maintaining fleets of 60, 120, or 240+ PXL Curve 12 fixtures, the 6-way case format scales with predictable maths: ten cases carries sixty fixtures, twenty cases carries one hundred and twenty, every truck-pack stays consistent across the inventory.
Specified properly across a rental fleet, this case format minimises total case count, reduces handling time per fixture, and standardises the way crews work with the kit. For touring productions running large LED rigs, the 6-way format means fewer cases to track, fewer load-in cycles, and faster turnarounds between shows.
The trade-off is honest: a fully-loaded 6-way Curve 12 case is genuinely heavy and typically requires two-person handling during load-in and load-out. For most touring and rental operations this is exactly the right balance — but for crews working smaller venues with limited handling staff, our 3-way and 2-way variants of this case may be more practical for your specific workflow.
Engineered around how rigging crews actually work
The case is built on a reinforced 18mm wheelboard with heavy-duty 100mm braked castors, recessed butterfly latches on every closure, and 9mm hexa-laminate panel construction throughout. Aircraft-grade aluminium extrusions protect every edge. Reinforced steel corner blocks at every junction.
It stacks cleanly with other Nomad cases for truck-pack efficiency. It rolls smoothly across festival mud, stadium concrete, and venue ramps alike. It survives the brutal physical reality of touring without protruding hardware to catch, snag, or damage adjacent equipment in the truck.
Specified by the production professionals who operate at scale
Our 6-Way COLORado PXL Curve 12 Cases are trusted by touring lighting crews running European festival circuits, broadcast lighting teams kitting out studio installations, rental houses maintaining large-scale LED fleet inventories, and production companies specifying premium flight case standards across major fixture roll-outs.
The brief is always the same: protect the motor, protect the LED panel, keep the rigging organised, and survive the road — at the scale touring productions actually operate at.
If you're maintaining a fleet of PXL Curve 12 fixtures and need cases specified properly across the inventory, talk to our team about volume builds. Most of what leaves our workshop is built to specification, and most of our rental house customers reorder year after year.
