Flight Cases with Wheels
When the gear is heavy and the load-in is long, a flight case on wheels earns its keep. Every wheeled flight case in this range is hand-built in Britain and fitted with heavy-duty braked castors, so touring rigs, rack systems and large screens roll straight off the truck and onto the stage — no lifting, no strained backs. From compact wheeled cases to full production trunks and standard flight cases, these are the cases we design to be moved, not just stored. Most of our cases can be built with castors on request; the ones below are the models where mobility is the whole point.
Cases built to be rolled, not carried
Add castors and a case stops being something you lift and becomes something you steer. That changes what it can hold: bigger amps, deeper racks, taller screens, full backline. The models in this range are specced from the ground up for wheeled transport — reinforced bases, dish castors set into recessed wells, and braked wheels so nothing rolls away on a raked stage or a sloped dock.
Braked vs unbraked castors, and what size you need
Our standard wheeled cases ship with 100mm braked castors — the sweet spot for load rating and manoeuvrability on truck ramps and venue floors. Heavier trunks and double-bay racks step up to larger castors with higher load ratings. If you're not sure what your load needs, tell us the weight and how it'll travel and we'll spec the right wheel.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between a flight case on wheels and a road trunk?
What's the difference between a flight case on wheels and a road trunk?
A road trunk is simply a large, wheeled flight case built for touring — deep, castored and made to pack onto a truck. The trunks in this range are exactly that.
Can I add wheels to a case that isn't in this range?
Can I add wheels to a case that isn't in this range?
Yes. Nearly every Nomad case can be built with castors. Pick the size you need from any range and we'll add the wheels — including braked castors and pull-out handles.
Are the wheels braked?
Are the wheels braked?
Yes — our standard castors are braked, so cases stay put on ramps, sloped loading docks and raked stages.
What size castors do your wheeled flight cases use?
What size castors do your wheeled flight cases use?
Most use 100mm braked castors, chosen for a good balance of load rating and manoeuvrability. Heavier trunks and double-bay racks use larger, higher-rated castors. We'll match the wheel to your load and how the case will travel.
Do all your flight cases come with wheels?
Do all your flight cases come with wheels?
Not by default, but almost all of them can be. The cases in this range are designed to be rolled and ship with castors as standard. For any other case, castors can be added as a build option — just ask our experts
