Poly Tray Flight Cases — Trunks with Removable Lite Guard™ Trays
A poly tray flight case is a flight case trunk built around a stack of removable trays. The trunk is our standard 10mm plywood construction — extrusion-edged, ball-cornered, laminate-faced — and the trays are Lite Guard™ HDPE, made in-house from the same 1.3mm sheet as our plastic cases. Each tray lifts straight out, so a technician takes the one tray of fixings, sensors or consumables they need to the job rather than wheeling the whole trunk across the paddock.
We build three stock sizes: 10-way and 14-way on the same 837 × 686mm footprint at two heights, and a wider 21-way with two columns of trays. Most go to motorsport teams, where one trunk replaces a wall of tote boxes in the truck, and to touring, broadcast and industrial service crews who carry hundreds of small parts and need to find any one of them in seconds.
Why poly trays rather than tote boxes
The HDPE trays weigh a fraction of the equivalent plastic totes, wipe clean inside and out, and don't absorb oil, fuel or brake fluid. Because we cut and crease them ourselves there's no mould, so tray depth, dividers and colour are yours to specify — a colour per department, a shallow tray for gaskets, a deep one for filters. The plywood trunk around them takes the transit knocks the trays never see, and comes in the same finishes as the rest of our flight cases: Hexaboard as standard, with HPL, rigid PVC, Flight Panel, UltraFlite and Diamond Board options.

A plywood flight case trunk fitted with a stack of removable Lite Guard™ HDPE trays. The trunk gives you flight-case protection in transit; the trays give you a parts system you can pull out one at a time. Our stock sizes hold 10, 14 or 21 trays.
Is the case itself plastic?

No — the trays are. The outer case is 10mm plywood with aluminium extrusions and steel ball corners, in the same laminate finishes as our other flight cases. The trays are 1.3mm HDPE, made in our own workshop. If you want an all-plastic case, that's our Lite Guard™ range.

Yes. We cut and crease the trays in-house without a mould, so tray depth, dividers, colour and labelling are all specifiable, and mixed depths in one trunk are normal. Colour-coded trays for a fleet order carry a small minimum quantity or supplement.

Mostly motorsport teams — one trunk holding a race weekend's fixings, sensors and consumables, trays taken to the car as needed. Also touring and broadcast crews for cables and adaptors, and industrial service teams carrying spares to site.

They ship on a pallet — the 10-way is 971mm tall on an 837 × 686mm footprint, the 14- and 21-way are 1285mm. We'll confirm the delivery cost when we quote; if you're collecting or want us to deliver ourselves, say so.
