Haze, Fog + Special Effects

Haze, Fog + Special Effects

Atmospherics are the canvas for your lighting design. But haze and fog machines are notoriously difficult to transport—they leak fluid, they are oddly shaped, and they are fragile. Our Haze, Fog & Special Effects Cases are specifically engineered to contain the mess and protect the pumps.

This collection covers everything from small haze crackers to massive stadium foggers. We use fluid-resistant materials where possible and design the cases to keep the machines upright at all times, preventing fluid from destroying the internal electronics.

Atmospherics are the canvas your lighting design is painted on — but haze and fog machines are some of the hardest gear on the rig to move. They leak fluid, they're awkwardly shaped, and a knock in the wrong place takes out a pump. At Nomad Cases UK, our Haze, Fog & Special Effects Cases are engineered to contain the mess and protect the mechanics.

This collection spans the full range of effects gear — from compact tour hazers and universal low-fog cases to dry-ice foggers, wind machines and large-format turbine fans. Wherever possible we use fluid-resistant materials and design each case to keep the machine upright at all times, so stray fluid never finds its way into the electronics.

Technical Engineering Standards:

- Fluid Containment: Fluid-resistant linings and upright-locking foam keep tanks sealed and level, protecting pumps and internal electronics from leaks in transit.
- Machine-Specific Foam: CNC-machined high-density foam cut to the exact profile of your unit — from a Hazebase tour hazer to a Martin Glaciator low-fog machine.
- Integrated Storage: Vertical rack formats with dedicated gas-bottle storage for CO2 and liquid-nitrogen foggers like the MDG Ice Fog Q.
- Tour-Grade Construction: 9.5mm birch plywood or hexaboard, genuine Penn Elcom hardware and heavy-duty 100mm castors as standard.

From a small haze cracker to a stadium fogger, our Market Harborough team builds the protection your effects rig deserves. Built in Britain since 1961.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which haze and fog machines do you make cases for?

We build bespoke cases across the full range of effects gear, including Smoke Factory and Hazebase tour hazers, Martin Glaciator low-fog machines, MDG Atmosphere, ATMe and Ice Fog Q foggers, Le Maitre Pea Souper dry-ice machines, Chauvet Cumulus and ADJ Entour Ice low foggers, and stage fans from Martin, Reel EFX and MagicFX. If your machine isn't listed, we can engineer a case from the unit or its technical drawings — just call an expert on +44 (0)1858 464878.

How do you stop fluid leaking and damaging the machine in transit?

Our cases are designed to keep the machine upright and level at all times, with fluid-resistant linings and CNC-cut foam that locks the unit in place. This is the single most important factor in preventing stray fluid from reaching pumps and electronics.

Can you make a case for a dry-ice or CO2 fogger with gas bottle storage?

Yes. For machines like the MDG Ice Fog Q we build vertical touring racks with dedicated, secured storage for the gas bottle alongside the unit, so everything travels together safely.

Can I get a combined case for a hazer and its fan?

We do. Our "Production" style combo trunks house a hazer and its fan in a single case, cutting your piece count and keeping the pairing together through load-in and load-out.

What are the cases built from?

Tour-grade construction as standard: 9.5mm birch plywood or hexaboard, genuine Penn Elcom hardware and heavy-duty 100mm castors. Fluid-resistant materials are used wherever the design allows, and finishes can be specified to match your existing fleet.

Do you make cases for large turbine fans and wind machines?

Yes. We build large-format trunks for turbine and wind machines including the MagicFX Stage Propeller and Reel EFX RE-Fan, engineered around their size and weight for safe handling and transport.

How long does a bespoke effects case take, and where are they made?

Every case is hand-made at our Market Harborough facility in Leicestershire, with fast UK and worldwide shipping. Lead times vary by specification and quantity — contact the team for a current estimate on your build.

Can you brand cases in our rental fleet livery?

Yes. We screen-print and finish cases in your branding so your hire stock is instantly identifiable.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes — UK-built and export-ready for air and sea freight worldwide.
