Custom builds & ordering
Do you make custom flight cases?
Yes — it's what we've done since 1961. Every Nomad flight case is hand-built to order in our Market Harborough workshop, engineered around your exact equipment. Obscure sizes, awkward shapes, integrated racks, foam-lined interiors — if you can describe it, we can build it.
How long does a custom flight case take to build?
Typically 2–3 weeks from an approved specification. Lead times can vary with workload and the complexity of the build, so we'll confirm a delivery date when you place your order. Need it faster? Call us — we'll tell you honestly what's possible.
How do I get a quote?
Call +44 (0) 1858 464878 or email sales@nomadplc.com with the make and model of your equipment, or its dimensions and weight. Our team will spec the case with you — usually in one conversation — and send a written quote.
Can I order just one case?
Absolutely. One-off builds are our bread and butter, though we also handle fleet orders for touring, broadcast and motorsport teams.
Can you build cases in my company colours?
Yes. Hexaboard comes in a full palette — black, white, grey, greens, yellows, orange, red, pink, purple and blues — plus HPL, rigid PVC, flight panel and UltraFlite finishes. Want logos or branding on the case? Mention it when you spec the build and we'll talk you through the options.
Materials & construction
What are Nomad flight cases made from?
9mm hexa-laminate panels, aircraft-grade aluminium extrusions and genuine Penn Elcom hardware — recessed sprung handles, butterfly latches and steel ball corners. See our Materials and Finishes page for the full range.
Are your flight cases waterproof?
Nomad-built flight cases have a water-resistant finish that keeps moisture out in normal transit and storage. If you need a fully sealed, submersion-rated case, we stock IP67-rated Peli, MAX and Explorer cases — and we can CNC-cut custom foam for those too.
Do you make custom foam inserts?
Yes. Our CNC-cut foam inserts give every tool or piece of equipment its own cavity. We cut foam for our own cases and as standalone inserts for cases you already own. See Custom Foam Inserts.
Do you sell off-the-shelf cases as well as custom builds?
Yes — we stock Peli, MAX and Explorer hard cases plus poly cases and poly racks, ready to ship. Many customers pair a stocked case with a custom foam interior.
Delivery & shipping
How much does delivery cost?
UK shipping depends on size and weight: standard APC shipping £25; half and oversize pallets £65; double-space pallets £130. Brand rates: Peli cases ship free; MAX cases £10.50 (oversized £39.50); Explorer cases £15 (oversize £20, gun cases £25); poly cases £25; poly racks £10. Full details on our shipping policy.
Do you ship outside the UK?
Yes — we ship worldwide from Market Harborough. International rates are quoted per destination; contact us with your delivery address for a price.
When will my order arrive?
Stocked items are dispatched quickly after order. Custom builds ship as soon as they pass final inspection — we'll confirm the build and delivery date when you order.
Returns & issues
What is your returns policy?
You have 14 working days from delivery to return an unused item in its original packaging with proof of purchase. Return shipping is arranged and paid by the customer. Once we've inspected the item, approved refunds are made to your original payment method within 14 calendar days. Full details on our Delivery and Returns page.
Can I return a custom-built case?
Customised products — bespoke flight cases, poly cases and custom foam inserts — can't be returned, as they're built around your equipment. If a custom build doesn't conform to the agreed specification, that's a different matter: tell us within 24 hours of delivery and we'll put it right.
What if my order arrives damaged or isn't right?
Notify us within 24 hours of receipt — photos help us resolve it fastest. We'll replace, repair, discount or refund non-conforming goods as quickly as possible, with agreed refunds credited within 7 calendar days.
Do your cases come with a warranty?
We build cases to outlast the gear inside them, and we stand behind every build. Any fault or non-conformance is handled under our non-conforming goods process — and because we manufacture in-house with genuine Penn Elcom hardware, we can supply spare parts and carry out repairs long after delivery.
