Jem ZR45 Hazer Flight Case

Engineered protection for the touring industry's most-specified hazer. Built around the pump, heater, and fluid system.

The Nomad Jem ZR45 Hazer Flight Case is built for the touring atmosphere techs, theatre lighting crews, broadcast lighting riggers, corporate event lighting teams, and rental houses moving Martin Jem's ZR45 hazer between venues — where the machine's pressurised fluid system, heated atomising chamber, and electronic control panel all need protection that generic flight cases simply don't provide.

Hand-built in our Market Harborough workshop, every case combines CNC foam tooling profiled to the exact dimensions of the ZR45 with protected fluid reservoir cavity and electronic control panel isolation — keeping the hazer's mechanical and electronic systems safe from the freight handling, vibration, and rough load-in cycles touring atmosphere generation involves.

Why generic cases fail this machine

The Jem ZR45 isn't a generic touring fixture. It's a pressurised fluid atomiser combining a heated chamber, an electrical pump, a fluid reservoir, and a control board into a single working machine. Every show, it generates haze for hours — and every show, it has to be transported between venues without the fluid system, the pump bearings, or the heater element being compromised.

A generic foam-fitted flight case protects the outer body of the machine. It doesn't isolate the pump from sustained low-frequency vibration during freight handling — vibration that wears out pump bearings faster and reduces atomising performance over time. It doesn't protect the fluid reservoir from impact during transit — impacts that can crack the reservoir or compromise its seals. It doesn't account for the heated chamber needing thermal isolation as it cools after a show before being loaded into the truck.

This case is engineered around exactly those failure modes.

Built around the ZR45

Every Nomad ZR45 case is CNC-profiled to the exact dimensions of the machine — including the control panel face, the fluid reservoir position, and the heated chamber's external dimensions. Dual-density Plastazote foam tooling cradles the unit from below and above, isolating the pump and heater assembly from high-frequency vibration during freight transit and absorbing impact loads during festival and touring load-ins.

The machine sits control-panel-up in the foam tray, allowing crews to visually inspect each unit and check fluid levels before pulling it for the show. The fluid reservoir is supported separately, ensuring fluid weight doesn't transfer through the machine body during transit — protecting both the reservoir seals and the structural mounting points.

Engineered for the way atmosphere techs actually work

Hazers don't get used like generic fixtures. They get powered up before the show, run continuously for hours, then cooled down, drained or sealed, and packed for transit. The case has to support that full lifecycle: protection during transit, access during cool-down, easy removal for show operation, and clean re-packing after the show.

The case lid removes entirely for full machine access during operational use. The interior accommodates fluid drain operations safely. Closes flush during transit with recessed latches that don't catch on cables, costumes, or hands during fast load-outs.

Construction features

  • CNC-profiled foam tooling matched to ZR45 dimensions
  • Dual-density Plastazote foam isolation
  • Dedicated fluid reservoir support cavity
  • Electronic control panel isolation
  • 9mm hexa-laminate panel construction throughout
  • Aircraft-grade aluminium extrusions on every edge
  • Reinforced steel corner blocks at every junction
  • Recessed butterfly latches on the front lid
  • Reinforced 18mm wheelboard base
  • Heavy-duty 100mm braked castors (2 braked, 2 fixed)
  • Optional integrated fluid bottle storage compartment

Built to survive the road

The case rolls smoothly across festival mud, theatre stage floors, broadcast studios, corporate venue concrete, and stadium loading bays alike. It stacks cleanly with other Nomad cases for truck-pack efficiency. It survives the brutal physical reality of touring atmosphere generation without protruding hardware to catch, snag, or damage adjacent equipment in transit.

Specified across the sectors that depend on professional haze

Our Jem ZR45 Hazer Cases are trusted by touring atmosphere techs running European tour circuits, theatre lighting crews maintaining house atmosphere inventories, broadcast lighting riggers kitting out studio installations, corporate event lighting specialists managing multi-venue event rollouts, and rental houses building out atmosphere generation fleets for the live event market.

The brief is always the same: protect the pump, protect the fluid system, keep the machine working tour after tour, and survive the road.

If you're maintaining a fleet of Jem ZR45 hazers and need cases specified properly across the inventory, talk to our team about volume builds. Most of what leaves our workshop is built to specification, and most of our rental house and atmosphere tech customers reorder year after year.
