8-Way Martin MAC One Flight Case

Eight compact LED hybrid fixtures. One efficient touring unit. Built for the way lighting crews actually work.

The Nomad 8-Way Martin MAC One Flight Case is built for the theatre lighting crews, broadcast lighting teams, corporate AV technicians, touring rigging crews, and rental houses moving Martin Professional's compact LED hybrid fixtures between venues — where eight fixtures need to travel together with the protection their precision optics and motorised yokes deserve.

Hand-built in our Market Harborough workshop, every case combines an eight-fixture CNC foam tooled interior with the touring-grade construction Nomad has refined since 1961. Eight MAC Ones, properly cradled, properly protected, properly together — ready to deploy across theatre rigs, broadcast studios, corporate events, and touring productions alike.

Engineered for the compact fixture's specific requirements

The Martin MAC One isn't just a small moving head. It's a precision LED hybrid fixture that combines wash and beam optics in a deliberately compact form factor — and that compact size brings its own protection challenges. Eight fixtures fit in a single case where a similar count of larger moving heads would require multiple trucks. But that efficiency only works if each fixture is properly protected from the others during transit.

A generic 8-way fixture case fits eight MAC Ones into eight cavities. It doesn't account for the precision LED engine, the wash/beam optical alignment, or the motorised yoke that responds in real time to cue commands. It doesn't isolate each fixture from the vibration that transfers through tightly-packed multi-fixture cases during freight handling.

This case is engineered around exactly those failure modes.

Built around the MAC One

Every Nomad 8-Way MAC One case is CNC-profiled to the exact dimensions of the fixture — including the motorised yoke, the LED engine, and the connection panel at the rear. Dual-density Plastazote foam tooling cradles all eight fixtures from below and above, isolating each unit from impact loads during freight transit and absorbing the vibration that comes with touring deployment.

The fixtures sit yoke-up in the foam tray, allowing crews to visually inspect each unit before pulling it for the show. Each fixture's yoke is supported separately from the body, ensuring the optical assembly isn't carrying the fixture's weight during transit — a small detail that meaningfully extends optical alignment longevity across multiple touring seasons.

Engineered around how lighting crews actually work

The case is built on a reinforced 18mm wheelboard with heavy-duty 100mm braked castors, recessed butterfly latches on every closure, and 9mm hexa-laminate panel construction throughout. Aircraft-grade aluminium extrusions protect every edge. Reinforced steel corner blocks at every junction.

It stacks cleanly with other Nomad cases for truck-pack efficiency. It rolls smoothly across theatre floors, broadcast studios, corporate venue concrete, and festival mud alike. It survives the brutal physical reality of touring without protruding hardware to catch, snag, or damage adjacent equipment in the truck.

The right scale for the way the MAC One actually gets used

The MAC One's compact form factor means it's often specified in volume across multiple rig positions — eight fixtures on a front truss, eight more on a mid-stage truss, eight more on stage-floor positions. The 8-way case format matches this deployment pattern: one case per rig position, eight fixtures ready to fly, fast turnaround between cues and venues.

For rental houses maintaining MAC One fleets of 40, 80, or 160+ fixtures, the 8-way case format scales with predictable maths. Five cases carry forty fixtures, ten cases carry eighty, every truck-pack stays consistent across the inventory. Small operational efficiencies multiplied across hundreds of fixtures and hundreds of shows.

Specified across the sectors that depend on the MAC One

Our 8-Way Martin MAC One Flight Cases are trusted by theatre lighting crews maintaining repertory fixture inventories, broadcast lighting teams kitting out studio installations, corporate AV technicians running multi-venue event roll-outs, touring rigging crews working European festival circuits, and rental houses building Martin Professional fleet inventories across the install and live event markets.

The brief is always the same: protect the optics, protect the motor, keep eight fixtures travelling together as one efficient unit, and survive the road.

If you're maintaining a fleet of Martin MAC One fixtures and need cases specified properly across the inventory, talk to our team about volume builds. Most of what leaves our workshop is built to specification, and most of our rental house customers reorder year after year.
