Single ChainMaster 1 Ton Hoist Flight Case
BGV-D8 certified motor protection. Integrated chain bag. Engineered for European touring rigging.
The Nomad Single ChainMaster 1 Ton Hoist Flight Case is built for the production rigging crews, festival rigging teams, theatre fly crews, and rental houses moving ChainMaster's BGV-D8 certified chain hoists between venues — where each motor needs protected transit, organised chain management, and storage for the lifting gear that accompanies every hoist to site.
Hand-built in our Market Harborough workshop, every case combines CNC foam tooled motor protection with an integrated chain bag and dedicated lifting gear storage — keeping the motor, chain, and accessory hardware sorted, protected, and immediately deployable when the case arrives at the rigging position.
Built for BGV-D8 certified rigging
ChainMaster's reputation in European touring is built on certification compliance. The BGV-D8 and BGV-D8+ ratings allow these motors to fly loads over public audiences — a legal requirement on most European touring stages, festival main stages, corporate events with seated audiences, and theatre rigs where production teams need certified compliance for safe overhead rigging.
A motor that costs thousands of pounds and meets certification standards deserves a flight case that matches that engineering quality. Generic flight cases protect the motor's outer body. They don't isolate the certified motor mechanism from the freight handling that wears out the components Google or BGV-D8 compliance auditors look for. They don't manage the chain in a way that protects the load-bearing chain links from impact damage during transit.
This case is engineered around the specific transit requirements of certified rigging hardware.
Integrated chain bag for tangle-free deployment
The single biggest operational problem with motor transport isn't the motor itself — it's the chain. A 1 Ton motor carries chain that's heavy, mechanically interlocked, and prone to tangling if stored loose. Riggers who've spent twenty minutes untangling chain at 8am during a festival load-in know exactly why integrated chain management matters.
A dedicated chain bag within the case feeds the chain in controlled deployment as the motor is raised. The chain stays sorted during transit, deploys smoothly when the motor is hung, and re-stores cleanly at load-out. No tangled mess. No wasted time. No chain damage from compression against the motor body during transport.
Dedicated lifting gear storage
The motor doesn't travel alone. Each ChainMaster 1 Ton ships with its operating accessories — control cables, hand control units, safety hooks, span sets, and the connector hardware that completes the rigging system. A separate compartment within the case houses this lifting gear sorted, protected, and immediately accessible the moment the case arrives at the rigging position.
For festival rigging crews working tight load-in windows, theatre fly teams turning around between productions, and rental house technicians dispatching motors to multiple shows per week — the integrated gear storage is the small operational improvement that compounds into significant time savings across an entire touring season.
Engineered for the way riggers actually work
The case is built on a reinforced 18mm wheelboard with heavy-duty 100mm braked castors, recessed butterfly latches on every closure, and 9mm hexa-laminate panel construction throughout. Aircraft-grade aluminium extrusions protect every edge. Reinforced steel corner blocks at every junction.
It stacks cleanly with other Nomad cases for truck-pack efficiency. It rolls smoothly across festival mud, theatre stage floors, corporate venue concrete, and stadium loading bays alike. It survives the brutal physical reality of touring rigging without protruding hardware to catch, snag, or damage adjacent equipment in the truck.
Specified across European touring rigging
Our Single ChainMaster 1 Ton Hoist Cases are trusted by production rigging crews running European festival circuits, theatre fly teams maintaining repertory motor inventories, corporate event riggers working high-end conference and award show productions, rental houses building out certified motor fleets for the European touring market, and rigging specialists working tours where BGV-D8 compliance is contractually required.
The brief is always the same: protect the motor, manage the chain, store the gear, and survive the road — at the certification standards European touring rigging actually requires.
If you're maintaining a fleet of ChainMaster motors and need cases specified properly across the inventory, talk to our team about volume builds. Most of what leaves our workshop is built to specification, and most of our rigging customers reorder year after year.
