The first Nomad cases are made

Mainly manufacturing work boxes for the Northampton shoe industry and the Leicester textile and hosiery industries. This quickly evolved into manufacturing cases. The materials used back then are still being worked with today plus the addition of HDPE High Density Polyethylene sheet.

The unique manufacturing methods allow for total flexibility in size without using any special tooling, so we can manufacture just a single case to your particular size and design, for any item requiring protection or transportation, without breaking the bank.

Quite often you will see vintage laundry boxes at antique fairs all bearing an 'Enfield' label on the inside.  Also in 2000, we started manufacturing padded bags and covers.

    Nomad purchased 'Custom Cases'

Shortly after the Enfield acquisition, Nomad purchased 'Custom Cases' who were formed in 1975. Custom's main business was in the medical industry ( Even Martin Clunes as Doc Martin carries a 82003 medical case!) and also presentation cases for reps samples. These cases are made using a vacuum formed ABS shell with an aluminium frame, die cut or routed foam inserts are then added to suit the products.

Custom also imported from the Far East and India, a range of quality briefcases which gave Nomad an introduction into this marketplace and sourcing possibilities
